As many as 80% of us will experience low back pain in our lifetime. You have probably been told to just rest and relax while the pain subsides. However, this theory has now changed. Research is now showing many benefits to having an active approach to low back pain. The new active approach includes working on postures contributing to pain, strengthening exercises, stretching, cardiopulmonary fitness, and mobility exercises. All of these can help decrease the pain you might be experiencing. A physiotherapist can help determine which exercises will be beneficial for you based on the cause of your pain.
