Legionnaires’ disease is common in summer and it spreads when water droplets containing Legionella bacteria accidentally reach your lungs through the respiratory tract, causing headache, fever up to 104 F or higher, shortness of breath, confusion, and excess coughing with mucous and blood. The bacteria reside in freshwater lakes, hot water tanks/tubs, fountains, water heaters, showerheads. Prevent Legionnaires’ disease – Avoid inhaling water particles during shower, do not inhale near moist soil while gardening, monitor and clean your water management/ plumbing system, keep your lungs healthy.
