We all have a big shiny goal. It’s exciting to look forward to, but if we only focus on the endgame and miss the smaller markers, it’s going to be an extremely long slog. To me, progress is in the tiny moments. I nearly cried when a woman I’ve been working with told me she could finally bend her arm enough to lick peanut butter off her thumb. Sometimes it takes another person to remind us of how far we’ve come and get excited about the little things. The smaller we can celebrate, the more there is to celebrate along the way – and isn’t that encouraging?
