Podiatrists spend a great deal of time telling patients that their shoes are the source of their problems.
It sounds simple, but the fact is that your shoe should be the same shape as your foot. A wide foot needs a wide shoe, a square set of toes will need a square shaped toe box. If in doubt, take the insole out of the shoe and step down on it; your toes should not fall off of the edges of the insole. Avoid soft “marsh mellow” soles or soles that twist easily. A super light shoe will not support you very well.
