Earwax is a good thing, as it protects your ears from foreign bodies. It will naturally work its way out of the ear canal and should generally be left alone, but sometimes you may experience buildup. Symptoms of buildup can include ringing in your ears, a feeling of fullness, or sound distortion. Some things to avoid are overcleaning your ears, which can increase wax production and cause irritation or infections; and putting objects deep in your ear or using ear candles, which can damage your eardrums. Always be sure to contact a hearing professional for safe earwax removal.
