Archwood 55 Plus is a community-based non-profit, charitable organization offering lunches, art and fitness classes, social activities, bus trips and other services to adults ages 55 and older living in the Winnipeg area. Our goal is to encourage graceful aging and empower older adults to lead healthy and active lives while socializing with their peers http://archwood55plus.wildapricot.

What’s Happening in October
It was great to see all our members back on site for classes and programs. Even though we have concluded our registrations in September, we encourage members to track our website- archwood55plus.wildapricot for up-to-date additions for new activities and opportunities.

Our current class schedule is outlined below: We have sold out several of the classes, but we always have wait lists so that if any of our members can not attend, we can fill in spots.

Mondays: Yoga Fit Flow: 9 – 9:45 AM, Chair Yoga: 10 – 10:45 AM, Chair Yoga II: 11 – 11-45 AM
Tuesdays: Line Dancing: 10:45 – 11:45 AM, Functional Movement: 11AM – 12:00 PM
Thursdays: Art: 9:30 – 11:30 AM
Fridays: Let’s Move Let’s Dance: 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Chair Pilates: 10:45 – 11:45 AM

Expanded Pickleball Action:
Pickleball is back with members on the courts on Mondays and Thursdays with an introductory program for newbies in the morning and our regular mix of players in the afternoon. We have a fun bunch playing in both time slots and never take the game too seriously. Come check it out. An introductory pass is only $10 for three sessions where you can learn the basics and see if this fast-growing sport is a fit for you. Regular passes are 10-games for $20 and 20-games for $40.

Billiards and Games for members:
Mondays and Thursdays 12:30 – 2:30 PM. We have a variety of free games and one billiard table that has been upgraded with new surface and banks.

Bingo: Bingo is back on Wednesday, October 25th starting at 1:00 PM. Bingo cards are $10 for 20 games. Canteen is available. Check our website for details.

St Norbert Fall Brunch
Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3459 Pembina Hwy., Sunday, October 22. Includes pancakes, sausages, Bacon, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, apple crisp, juice, coffee. Check our website for details.

Volunteer Opportunities
We greatly appreciate our members’ valuable contributions that enhance the success of our programs. Your support as escorts during bus trips or assistance with setting up and serving at our monthly lunches is truly invaluable. Even our pickleball nets need a helping hand!
