Look for Local at Sobeys
Lepp’s Family Farm is owned by Janelle and Daniel Lepp in Elm Creek, Southern Manitoba. They both come from a long line of family farmers stretching all the way back to 1879 on Janelle’s side and 1926 on Daniel’s. The family’s true passion lies with wholesome, quality natural products, all of which have been sustainably grown in Canada and produced without any additives or preservatives. If you’re looking for gluten-free products, try their oat flour, rolled oats, and quick oats, which have been rigorously tested for quality and consistency. You can find all of these products in our Wellness Department!
Emergency Lock Box
Have your ever asked yourself, how could I be rescued if my door was locked? Time is of the essence during a fire or medical emergency. Install a Lock Box – a small weather-resistant metal box that securely holds a set of keys. Should an emergency occur while you are unable to open the door or get out of the residence, Brandon Fires & Emergency Services can access your property without having to break in. Contact Brandon Seniors for Seniors Co-op Inc. for more information.
Join the Club
Brandon Seniors for Seniors Co-op Inc. is a great place to meet people, learn new skills and have fun! Everyone is invited to get involved in: yoga classes, line dancing, exercise group, foot care, computer club, Men’s Club, Stitch N Chat, cribbage, clogging, and iPad training in partnership with Vincent Massey students. Some of the benefits of becoming an annual member include reduced rates for activities and a voice in the organization.
Ticks and Lyme Disease
If you spend time in wooded, shrubby, or grassy areas, it’s important to check yourself for ticks. Deer ticks (aka black-legged ticks) carry bacteria that can cause Lyme disease. A “bull’s-eye” skin rash and flu-like symptoms are common signs of the condition. Lyme disease is typically treated with doctor-prescribed antibiotics. To avoid tick bites, avoid brushing against vegetation, wear light-coloured long-sleeved shirts and pants, and use insect repellent containing DEET. If you find an embedded tick, gently remove it using tweezers by pulling close to the skin and avoid squeezing the tick. Clean the bite wound thoroughly.

Funeral Pre-Planning with Memories
We’ve had the privilege of assisting many families with their funeral pre-planning. During the time we’ve spent with them, we’ve learned more about the reasons behind their decision to take funeral pre-planning seriously.
What We’ve Heard Over the Years
-Pre-planning my funeral was my way of showing my family just how much I love them.
-In pre-paying for my funeral arrangements, I’ve lessened the financial burden on those people I leave behind.
-I’m very independent and have always made all my own decisions.
-Some say I like to be in control of everything and they’re right!
-This way my family knows exactly what I want. No one has to get angry or fight, and no one has to feel guilty about making the wrong decision. When I’m gone, they will know what I want.
-I remember when my mother died. None of us kids knew what to do and absolutely none of us knew what she wanted. No one bothered to ask! I’m just not going to wait for my kids to ask me what I want. I’m going to tell them.
-I guess it’s because I want things done my way. I want to provide my funeral pre-arrangements to our local funeral home to make sure I get what I want.
These are just a few of the comments we’ve heard during funeral pre-arrangements. Chances are pretty good that some of these statements are true for you as well.
If any of the above reasons sound like you, Call Memories Chapel today at 204.727.0330 to learn about how to get your pre-planning decisions recorded.
