Happy Healthy Feet
As temperatures rise, care for your feet during summer activities is crucial. Hydrate by drinking water to prevent dryness and cracking. Choose breathable footwear to avoid sweat buildup and fungal infections. Wash feet thoroughly, especially between toes, and apply sunscreen to protect from sunburn. Trim toenails straight across to prevent ingrown nails. Moisturize daily, focusing on dry areas like heels. Take breaks to rest and elevate feet to reduce swelling. Rotate shoes to prevent odor and bacterial growth. Seek professional help for persistent issues. So, slip on those sandals, hit the beach, and let your feet take you on your next summer adventure!
Say Hello to Allergy Season
It’s important to know the difference between seasonal allergies easily treatable with a simple OTC antihistamine and more serious symptoms that may require more attention. Seasonal allergies typically cause a runny nose, itchy or teary eyes, sneezing and sometimes itchy skin or a mild rash, and are caused by pollen or other airborne particles. If more serious symptoms like hives, difficulty breathing, a rapid heartbeat or feeling faint appear suddenly it may be the result of a more serious allergic reaction and immediate medical attention should be sought. Our pharmacists are always happy to provide you with the medication suitable for your symptoms if appropriate!
Telephone Tree
The Telephone Tree program offers support services to older adults over the phone. Our volunteers make weekly social calls offering participants a chance to be heard by providing emotional support, companionship and a sense of community. Volunteers can also provide you with information and referral services as well as keep you informed about the programs and events in the community. It is a great way to stay connected with the community from your home. Call us today if you would like to receive weekly calls. For more information, please contact Nisa Moman

Maximizing Impact Through Matching Donations
Peace Arch Hospital’s medical imaging department is in critical need of modernization. Outdated equipment leads to subpar images, delays in care, and discomfort for patients.
• We are in the final stages of a $10 million campaign for new imaging equipment. From May 4-August 25, we seek to raise the final $1 million to fund this new equipment.
• Generous matching donors, the Surrey and White Rock Firefighters Charitable Societies, will match all gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000.
• Every donation, no matter the size, will have double the impact in advancing our medical imaging capabilities. This matching opportunity amplifies the power of community support in achieving our fundraising goal.
Join us in Making a Difference
• Community support is vital in bringing this critical project to fruition. Whether through donations, advocacy, or spreading the word, every action counts in shaping the future of healthcare in our community. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of patients and families served by Peace Arch Hospital.
