The Customer-Pharmacist Relationship

It’s important to have a good relationship with your pharmacist, as they are a valuable source of information and can help you make decisions on and better understand your medications and overall health. A good rule of thumb when it comes to determining what kind of relationship you have with your pharmacist is whether you know them by their first name. Pharmacists who offer a more personal experience can provide more individualized, specific information on your prescriptions. Your pharmacist should be available to answer questions you have and to explain in detail any medications you are taking for the first time.

Words To Live By

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.”
~ H. Jackson Brown Jr.

The Safe Alternative To Online Dating

Online dating can be exhausting, dangerous and demoralizing. Hours of searching profiles, followed by unsuccessful date after date can result in dating ‘burn out’. Furthermore, when it comes to online dating, you never know who you are really meeting. You have no idea about their actual age and relationship status, their true intentions or if they have a criminal history. Online dating can be extremely dangerous. This is why I recommend a professional matchmaker. An experienced matchmaker will introduce you to the right match, who is screened, and hand picked for you. Finding true love is important and hiring a matchmaker could be the best decision you ever make.

You Are Not Overweight, You Are Overacidic

Are you looking to achieve optimal health, all while shedding excess weight? Over-acidification of the body sets in motion a destructive cycle of imbalance, disease and obesity. Too much acid in the body robs the blood of oxygen, and without oxygen, the metabolism slows. Food digests more slowly, inducing weight gain and sluggishness, and worse still, causing the food to ferment. It is vital to balance your pH level by reducing your acidity through drinking good pure water, eating natural foods, and eliminating highly processed high sugar content foods.

Digestive Problems? Treat The Cause!

More than 20 million Canadians suffer from digestive disorders every year. Whether it’s heartburn, reflux, indigestion, abdominal pain, bloating, irritable bowel, or colitis, those suffering seldom find long term solutions. Conventional medicines offer temporary relief but rarely address the cause. If you do not find the cause, the symptoms will continue to worsen. One of the best ways to determine the cause of your condition is with nutritional testing. This non-invasive testing will let you know if you are lacking specific nutrients essential for proper digestion. If deficiencies are found, specific nutritional formulations can be given to address the cause and heal the area.

The Stress/Sleep Connection

Stress is the number one cause of sleep difficulties. If you don’t sleep enough at night, your body actually boosts your level of stress hormones. The brain chemicals connected with deep sleep are the same ones that tell he body to stop the production of stress hormones. As a result, when you don’t sleep well, your body keeps pumping out those hormones. The many costs of lack of sleep include but aren’t limited to:
• Brain and nervous system functioning. Your memory actually worsens.
• Poor metabolic functioning
• Lowered immune system functioning
• Higher chances of obesity and metabolic syndrome
• Risk of cancer rises
• Poor mood stabilization

Walking Your Dog in the Summer Heat

When walking your dog, keep in mind that if it feels hot enough to fry an egg outside, it probably is. When the air temperature is 30 degrees, the asphalt can reach a sizzling 60 degrees Celsius—hot enough to cause blistering, burns, permanent damage and scarring after just one minute of contact. Hot pavement can not only burn paws, they also reflect heat onto dogs’ bodies, increasing their risk of deadly heatstroke. To reduce the risk of blistered paws, test the surface with the back of your hand. If you can’t keep it there for five seconds, it’s too hot. Stay on grass and in shaded areas.

Wearing a Prosthesis Can Be Frustrating!

As an amputee, you will have to learn how to successfully use a prosthesis, and, yes, it requires work on your part. Many reasons could result in your residual limb not fitting into the prosthetic socket the same way each day or even throughout the day. Being sensitive to what/how you are feeling in the socket and learn what you can do to effect positive changes in your socket fit/comfort is important. Knowing when adding or removing full-length or partial-length prosthetic socks or removing and re-donning a liner a different way is the key. Don’t get frustrated, we’re here to help.
