Laser Treatment for Snoring?

NightLase is a leading-edge laser procedure using energy to stimulate the tissues of the airway causing a tightening effect which helps keep your airway open, thus improving your daily sleep. Simply put, research has shown that NightLase® reduces snoring and provides an effective, non-invasive way to lessen the effects of sleep apnea WITHOUT requiring a device to be worn during sleep. This laser therapy involves no chemical treatment, and no anesthesia. It is a gentle and easy way for you and your loved ones to regain a good night’s rest.

Smart in Everything but Reading?

Children who are considered bright underachievers often have vision problems that make reading difficult. Sometimes they’re described as auditory learners because they can remember things they’ve heard much faster and easier than anything they’ve read. A clear sign that a vision problem may be at the root of your child’s difficulties is poor performance on written or standardized tests. It may surprise you to learn that many children who have vision problems interfering with learning actually have 20/20 eyesight (with or without glasses). A Developmental Vision Evaluation is needed to determine if a vision problem is interfering with reading.

Holiday Health for Seniors

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can be hard for everyone, but can especially take a toll on seniors and their health. It’s important to continue making healthy, balanced meal choices and working to stay well hydrated during the holidays. Stick to any dietary restrictions you may have, even at family gatherings. If hosting gatherings becomes too difficult, have other family members take on hosting duties. Ensure the busyness of the holidays doesn’t result in clutter that could be a trip hazard, and be sure to take frequent breaks and stay well rested despite all of the excitement. Wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday season!

Holiday Season Safety for Pets

The holiday season presents many dangers for pets. Holiday treats such as rich, fatty scraps of meat, pork and poultry bones, alcoholic beverages, chocolates and other treats have been linked to pancreatitis in dogs. Xylitol, a sugar substitute, can cause a dog’s blood sugar to suddenly drop, potentially leading to kidney failure. Holiday plants like berries from mistletoe, holly, hibiscus, Christmas roses, and poinsettia are toxic to pets. Christmas tree water can be poisonous, and things like ornaments, hooks, tinsel, candles, lights and electrical wiring can all pose hazards to a pet’s wellbeing. Keep your pets safe this holiday season!

A Denturist’s Goal

A denturist’s goal is to replace missing natural teeth with esthetically pleasing, comfortable dentures. Denturists are independent professionals, licensed and educated to provide removable denture prosthetic services directly to the public. Not only do we do the intra oral procedures necessary to make your dentures, we also fabricate them. The immediate transfer of information required to do this precise work flows smoothly from the operatory to the in-house laboratory, resulting in fewer problems and a happier patient. When it comes to dentures see a denturist first.

All Chest Pain is Cardiac…

…Until proven otherwise. There are many non-cardiac reasons for chest pain. Consider cardiac etiologies first when chest pain occurs. Muscular strain or injury in the chest wall can worsen with movement. Respiratory issues can cause pain with coughing or breathing. Indigestion or heartburn can mimic cardiac pain. Fibromyalgia, arthritis, and even skin conditions can cause pain to the chest. A cardiogram offers valuable information. For more subtle cardiac events, blood work at an ER or urgent care facility is essential. You’ve gotta have heart! Never second guess chest pain.

Consider Keto BHB Supplements

If you are thinking about a Keto Diet, or are already following one, consider
taking Keto BHB Supplements. They contain Calcium, Sodium, and Magnesium.
When starting the diet they prevent the “Keto Flu” (not a virus, but a lack of energy
and feeling of malaise) Without the supplement you don’t have enough ketones for
energy and have soon used up the 500gm of carbs stored as glycogen in your
muscles and liver. Once on the diet, these supplements help during intermittent
fasting by keeping up the ketone levels in your bloodstream.

Achieving a Healthy Core

A healthy core needs two main things: strength and mobility. This is what makes it functional. A functional core will keep you upright and maintain proper posture, support you safely through your daily movements, and protect your organs. In addition, your risk of herniation (both disc and organ) will also decrease with a healthy core. Working on movement progressions (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), along with generally moving more than you are sedentary, is a great way to keep your core healthy. Talk to your chiropractor about ways you can safely strengthen and support your core and feel better!

Healing Cell Signaling

The human body has between fifty and three hundred billion cells. Inside every cell, we have mitochondria (some cells have thousands). Mitochondria, when functioning properly, produce redox signaling molecules. Cell signaling carry life-sustaining messages to cells, and your cells respond to those messages, keeping you alive and healthy. As we age, cell signal weakens they can disrupt gene expression. But if you had a way to regulate gene activity with redox signaling molecules, cellular communication would remain strong. Our bodies heal on a cellular level, and the genetic instructions that dictate healthy body function don’t get through without redox signaling.
