Services include lawn cutting, fall cleanup of leaves, gardening, flower beds and weeding. As with all of our services we can provide as much or as little based on what your needs are. We can also do small hedge trimming and pruning. As always if cost is a barrier we will work with you to overcome that barrier. During spring and fall we can also do outside window cleaning and eaves cleaning as well.
Volunteers Needed!
Here at Saskatoon Services for Seniors we strive to make a difference every day. We do this by helping seniors to remain in their own homes safely for as long as possible. The fall season offers our very popular Yard Work and Gardening programs. We encourage anyone with a heart of gold who likes working outdoors to volunteer so that seniors in our community can keep their yards and gardens looking beautiful now that winter has finally receded. If you or someone you know would be interested in helping seniors in our community, please contact our office today. All help is greatly appreciated.
Help Support Seniors in Our Community today!
All support is extremely valuable, be it donations, volunteer time or simply word-of-mouth. It is the people of Saskatoon that enable us to continue helping the city’s venerable population. Your generous donations help us progress our services while playing a vital role in keeping seniors independent. Every dollar of support stays right here in Saskatoon. We have many lower-income seniors that need our services, and the generosity of your support allows us to be able to assist them. Donations of $20 or over will get a tax receipt. We graciously accept cheques, cash, or e-transfer.
Disability Tax Credit Eligibility
The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) eligibility hinges on three primary impairment categories, each with its own criteria: Physical Impairments. Mental Illness and Psychological Impairments. Neurological Impairments. Simply having a certified medical condition within these categories doesn’t guarantee DTC eligibility. Qualification depends on impairment severity and its impact on “Activities of Daily Living.”
September is Arthritis Awareness Month
According to Stats Canada over 37% of Canadians over the age of 20 have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, mainly affecting hips and knees. This is the wear and tear condition due to breakdown of cartilage between the joints leading to pain and stiffness. Along with typical Naturopathic treatments, another beneficial treatment modality is Cold Laser, which uses light wavelengths to stimulate new energy production leading to restoration of normal function by increasing blood flow, nervous stimulation, and new cell growth. These treatments are non-invasive, painless and can be done a few times a week to stimulate that healing process.
Arthritis Assistance: Enriching Support Solutions
People with arthritis often face challenges with mobility, personal care, and activities of daily living. Family caregivers are sometimes limited by how often they can be with their loved ones to lend a hand. By expanding the care team, regular, ongoing support would be beneficial for the person living with arthritis and provide peace of mind for family. A Care Professional helps minimize arthritis-related difficulties by assisting with ambulation, bathing and grooming, home projects, light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, bedding changes and transportation. With family or a private company, explore the care options your loved one needs and deserves.

Exercise: Hair’s Vital Growth Booster
Embracing a dynamic lifestyle not only invigorates your body but also cultivates a lush crown of healthy hair. Regular exercise acts as a catalyst for robust hair maintenance and growth. As you engage in physical activity, blood circulation surges, ensuring a steady supply of essential nutrients and oxygen to hair follicles. This nourishment fortifies roots, promoting resilience and vitality. Additionally, exercise balances hormone levels, which directly impact hair health. So, whether you’re sweating it out in the gym or enjoying a revitalizing jog, every movement contributes to the foundation of radiant and strong hair. Make exercise a cornerstone of your routine for a vibrant mane that shines with health.
Laughter is the Best Medicine
My face in the mirror isn’t wrinkled or drawn. My house isn’t dirty. The cobwebs are gone. My garden looks lovely and so does my lawn. I think I might never put my glasses back on.
