Practice Makes Perfect

When adjusting to new dentures you may notice minor differences in your speech. Lisping or whistling is not unusual. It may take a week or two to adjust, but natural speech will return with practice. Speaking in front of a mirror and reading aloud are excellent exercises to speed up progress. Swallowing before speaking will help to secure the denture in place. Staying hydrated is important as you may experience a dry mouth, which can inhibit proper suction and your denture may drop when speaking. If the problem is chronic, your denturist may be able to make other recommendations.

Staying Active During COVID-19

Activity is important for both your physical and mental well-being. During the fall, make the most of nice weather and consider activities like walking and biking. When you do go inside, non-contact activities such as running, bodyweight workout routines and online fitness classes make it simple to maintain proper social distancing. If you prefer exercising with others, look for smaller fitness studios and classes that allow for the 2-metre spacing between participants. And if you use any equipment in a gym, be sure to thoroughly clean and disinfect it before and after use, even if you are the only one using it.

Benefits of Drinking Water

Warmer weather means we need to be even more vigilant about drinking plenty of water. Among the many benefits: It keeps us cooler. Getting the right amount of water each day also helps increase our metabolism and drinking a glass before a meal helps us feel full faster, so we’re less likely to overeat. Water is also good for digestion, healthy skin – and just about everything related to a healthy body! Drink water even when you are not thirsty. A good rule of thumb is to drink between a half-ounce and 1 ounce of water for every pound of body weight.

Chiropractic adjustments are safe, effective and a wise investment in improving your health.

Timing is Everything

Waiting is essential, required and can’t be rushed. A spiritual practice that involves knowing when to pause and stay open and when to move and take action. Honouring and trusting the mystery of life’s timing. Patiently awaiting is one of the more difficult things we have to learn in a human body. In a world that never stops, practicing the fine art of slowing down and tuning in invites a deep inner knowing and wisdom that can only be revealed rather than forced. There is a sacred timing once we unhook from the mind’s chatter, learning to differentiate our instincts from our fear awaiting an inner green light to reveal a clear yes or no. Trusting the answer will unfold at the perfect timing instead of the one we have pressured ourselves to create and re-enforce.
