Are you living with diabetes and frustrated because you are not meeting your blood sugar targets or are you newly diagnosed and uncertain about how to take care of your diabetes? Maybe you feel overwhelmed because your doctor suggested that you start insulin or you were told that you are at high risk of developing diabetes and feel confused about how to prevent progression? According to research, the most common reasons for poor control of blood sugar, annoying symptoms and development of long-term complications are lack of diabetes self- management skills and skills to put existing knowledge into practice. Diabetes can be challenging but…YOU can manage diabetes instead of diabetes managing you! As a Certified Diabetes Educator my commitment is to help you understand how diabetes affects your body and improve your confidence to self-manage. Together we make plans that are suitable for your lifestyle and geared to help overcome obstacles that prevent you from caring for your diabetes in the best possible way. Don’t Ignore Body Pain
Have you ever suffered from a painful condition and you have no idea why you got it? (If not, you are one of the few lucky ones) Many painful conditions are from repetitive use. That means that you do the same thing in the same way over and over again for years until the tissue finally starts to break down and cause pain. Alternatively, it may not take years and years to develop if you are doing a task in a biomechanically poor way and the tissues break down faster. Some of the common repetitive strain conditions are rotator cuff tendinitis, plantar fasciitis (heel pain) and tennis elbow. These can be resistant to treatment, and prevention is always recommended. Don’t ignore the early signs of repetitive pain, because it is unlikely that the pain will go away without changing the way you do something in your usual activities. dougchristiephysiotherapy.com

What is safe for you is not always safe or effective for your children, newborn or expectant mothers. Everyday hand soap can cause nerve damage and toxic if swallowed. Shampoo and body products have potential to cause birth defects if used by mom while pregnant. Who has the time to research every product on the market for safety? Follow your Intuition to Make Better Choices
It is said that the right side of your brain is lightning fast and registers information beyond reach of our normal conscious perception- hence, the common belief that “your first impression is usually right!” How often have you made a decision about something that didn’t follow your intuition and you caught yourself saying, or thinking, “I should’ve gone along with my first impression,” after things didn’t turn out so well with the alternate choice you made. If Intuition is “knowing” something without being able to explain how you came to that conclusion”, where do you think that thought came from? Find the courage to start practising to follow that initial thought and be prepared to be amazed where it’ll lead you! Sue Berard, Intuitive Medium at Divine Connection www.divineconnection.ca
