According to the Canadian Liver Foundation, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease in Canada. NAFLD is primarily a condition of lifestyle, related to sedentary lifestyles, poor diet in people who do not over-consume alcohol. Tips to support our Liver:
• Decrease the consumption of sugary foods, such as juice, pop, and high fructose corn syrup
• Keep moving – exercise will improve sugar control and help to prevent fatty build up in the liver.
• Avoid hydrogenated fats and high amounts of vegetable oils; and try an anti-inflammatory diet.
